Matsutake Mushrooms
Matsutake (matsutake) mushrooms mostly grow in Japan, as well as in China, Korea, Sweden, the USA, Canada, and Finland. In addition to their excellent taste qualities, they have medicinal properties. There are fewer of them on Earth because insects destroy trees on which these mushrooms grow, and there is no other way to grow them.
Their cost is about $2,000 per kilogram.
